This is self-defense?

Thank you, Shawn Vestal, for your March 27 article. I do not understand how someone can rationalize putting the value of property above a human life. Does this really sound like self-defense to anyone?

It also seems like the shooter was breaking the law by leaving an unattended vehicle running in the driveway. I know that the police have much to sort out. May they do it with great wisdom and justice for all involved.
