Coeur d’Alene police officers suffer smoke-inhalation at burning home
Coeur d’Alene Police officers forced entry to a burning home after neighbors told 911 a family could be trapped inside, according to a Coeur d’Alene Police Department news release.
All four of the officers suffered from smoke-inhalation when they searched the home at 615 Hattie Avenue, the news release said. But they realized nobody was home.
The tenants were located elsewhere at the time of the fire and were safe, the release said. The fire burned through the home’s ceiling and roof.
Despite smoke inhalation, the officers were not injured.
The fire’s cause is still being investigated, the release added. Multiple agencies responded to the fire including Coeur d’Alene Fire Department, Kootenai County Fire and Rescue and the Northern Lakes Fire District.
