Obituary: Weyen, Alfred Dwight

WEYEN, Alfred Dwight (Age 89) Passed away March 26, 2013.

Born December 25, 1923 in Leland, ID.

On February 6, 1947, in Fairfield, WA, he married Jane Ellen Clark.

They lived in Beachwood, NJ; later moving to Seattle, and finally spent the last 45 years in Spokane.

Mr. Weyen graduated from Reardan High School, in 1942.

Attended Folks Barber College, Seattle, WA, graduating in 1967.

Later, as a barber by trade for 45 years.

He owned and cut hair at the Central Valley Barber Shop.

He received his training at Farragut, in Idaho.

Serving in the U.S. Navy during WWII, 1943 to 1945; in the Mariana Islands and Hawaii aboard a PT Boat.

Later as a Prop Mechanic, 1950-1967; stationed at Geiger Field, Lakehurst NJ, Sandpoint, NAS and Seattle.

He retired after 20 years of active service.

He belonged to the VFW, Eagles, Elks and the DAV.

Mr. Weyen was preceded in death by his wife, Jane, (1989) and his brother, Ellesworth Weyen (1992).

He is survived by his sons: Allen (wife Renee) Weyen, Pahrump, NV and Lanny Weyen, Spokane Valley, WA; his sister, Marjorie Landreth, Spokane Valley, WA.

Grandchildren: Torey and Cooper Weyen of Pahrump, NV and Stacey and Tyson Loffredo, Las Vegas.

Great-grandchildren: Rhiannon Loffredo and Jiraiya Laffredo of Las Vegas, NV and Braylee Quick, of Pahrump, NV.

Services for Mr. Weyen will be held on Friday, April 5th at 1:00- pm at Hazen & Jaeger, 1306 N. Pines Rd.
