Here’s the Dirt: Greenstone plans new building

Greenstone plans new building

Greenstone Corp. is preparing to build its fourth commercial building in the Kendall Yards project in downtown Spokane.

The plan is for a three-level mixed use building with 27,000 square feet.

It will have six main-level retail spaces, plus 24 studio and one-bedroom apartments on levels two and three.

The first two commercial buildings have been the Cedar Park Plaza, whose main tenant is restaurant Central Food. The second and third commercial buildings, nearly completed, are side-by-side projects east of the restaurant on Summit Parkway. One will be occupied by The Inlander and the other by Spa Paradiso.

Greenstone is also completing the 84-unit Highline cluster of six apartment buildings, located due west of the state Court of Appeals.

Nonprofit moves Spokane office

Partners with  Families & Children,  a nonprofit group assisting children and families in crisis, is relocating its Spokane office to a larger building at 1321 W. Broadway. Its current address is 613 S. Washington.

The move is scheduled for May 1 and will help the nonprofit consolidate offices and staff into one space, instead of separated on two floors in its current location.

Matthew Byrd of  Cornerstone Property  Advisors  brokered the deal between the nonprofit and property owner Stonemark Real Estate Company. Rob Tyson represented Stonemark.

Work begins on hospital

Site work has begun on a 30-bed rehabilitation hospital on the north side of Interstate 90 in Post Falls.

The $11-million project is being built by Ernest Health Inc., an Albuquerque, N.M., company that operates 18 rehab centers and hospitals in the U.S.

It will be operated with Kootenai Health, providing care for Kootenai Medical Center patients needing rehabilitation from head or spinal injuries.

The 33,000-square-foot rehab hospital is expected to open in the fall and employ about 120 people.
