Dortmund tops Real Madrid on aggregate

Soccer: Borussia Dortmund advanced to the Champions League final for the first time since 1997, withstanding a late rally by Real Madrid to win their semifinal on 4-3 aggregate following a 2-0 loss at Madrid.

Karim Benzema scored in the 83rd minute and Sergio Ramos in the 88th, putting Real Madrid in position to advance with one more goal. English referee Howard Webb called for five minutes of stoppage time, and Borussia Dortmund hung on to set up the possibility of the first all-German final in soccer’s top club competition.

Bundesliga champion Bayern Munich has a four-goal advantage on Barcelona ahead of today’s game.

Blackmon suspended for first four games

NFL: The NFL has suspended Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Justin Blackmon for the first four games of the 2013 regular season for a violation of the league’s substance abuse policies.

Last season he caught 64 passes for 865 yards and five touchdowns.

Edmonton wins WHL Eastern Conference

Miscellany: Laurent Brossoit made 26 saves and posted his fifth shutout of the playoffs as the Edmonton Oil Kings defeated the visiting Calgary Hitmen 2-0 in Game 7 of the Western Hockey League’s Eastern Conference final.

Michael St. Croix had both Oil King goals as Edmonton advanced to the WHL final to play the Portland Winterhawks for the Ed Chynoweth Cup for the second year in a row.

• Crew members suspended: NASCAR has suspended the two Richard Childress Racing crew members arrested for fighting with Nelson Piquet Jr. at Richmond, Va.

Thomas Costello and Michael Searce were both suspended for four Nationwide Series races and fined $15,000 each.

• Mann entered: British driver Pippa Mann will run in next month’s Indianapolis 500 for Dale Coyne Racing, her first race since she was injured in the 2011 IndyCar season finale that killed Dan Wheldon.

• Rolston retires: Brian Rolston has retired after a 17-year NHL career in which he played for five teams and helped the New Jersey Devils win their first Stanley Cup.

• Hornqvist signs: The Nashville Predators have signed forward Patric Hornqvist to a five-year, $21.25 million contract.

• PGA drops ban on deer antler spray: Vijay Singh no longer faces any sanction for using deer antler spray.

PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem says new information from the World Anti-Doping Agency indicates that using deer antler spray is no longer considered prohibited.
