Correct the Supreme Court

I strongly disagree with the April 26 editorial of The Spokesman-Review. The U.S. Constitution, Bill of Rights and other amendments do not mention corporations. Corporations are artificial entities created after this country was formed for owners to avoid some taxes and legal liability.

Individual owners still have the same rights to free speech as every other citizen; they do not need a second soap box. Money is not free speech; instead it is being used as a form of bribery through lobbying to corrupt elected representatives. No corporation has given life or limb to create or defend this country.

Often, corporate officer political positions do not represent the views of all owners. Many corporations have foreign owners that have no interest in the general welfare of U.S. citizens. A few corporations are owned by foreign countries that are adversarial to this country. Corporations have shown by actions they are not patriots. Corporations have taken the taxpayer-paid technology of universities and exported it to offshore factories. They then invest their profits in foreign banks and expect our taxpayer-funded military to protect their assets.

It is past time to correct the mistakes of the U.S. Supreme Court.
