Obituary: Brisbois, Joseph Oliver

Age 91

BRISBOIS, Joseph Oliver (Age 91) Was born October 3rd, 1921, in Yakima, Washington to Richard Brisbois and Bertha Finley Brisbois; died April 27th, 2013 at 10 AM in Davenport, WA.

Joe, a Veteran of WWII and an enrolled member of the Spokane Tribe of Indians, is survived by his children Donna and Mick Burke of Spokane, Kaye Brisbois of West End, Bob and Laura Brisbois of West End, Gene and Chan Brisbois of West End and Hal Brisbois of Spokane.

Joe is also survived by three brothers, Clifford Brisbois of Miller Mountain, Eugene and Harlene Brisbois of Brewster and Al and Joanne Brisbois of Tacoma.

He also survived by 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren with two on the way (Camille and Leelah).

Joe was preceded in death by his parents Dick and Bertha, sisters Winny and Mary Jane and brother Dan and his grandsons Sean and Aaron Brisbois.

He loved and cherished all of the children of his family.

He encouraged education and hard work.

He also took great pride in their athletic abilities and their traditional activities.

Grandpa Joe was also a favorite uncle to many if not all of his sibling’s children.

All the youngens loved Grandpa and Uncle Joe.

Joe served in WWII and flew 85 combat missions as a turret gunner on B 25 Bombers.

Dad, Grand Pa Joe, Uncle Joe; WWII Veteran, Carpenter, Farmer, Rancher will be greatly missed by all of us.

At last, Dad left a choice for you.

A wake service will be held on Friday, May 3, 2013 at 7:00 PM at the Fruitland Bible Camp.

Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with interment at the La Fleur Cemetery, Fruitland, WA.
