LUKACH, Deacon George R., Jr.

Went home to the Lord April 30, 2013.

George was preceded in death by his wife Garnette Elizabeth; parents George and Viola Lukach; sons Paul Steven and John Paul: grandsons David, John and Travis Crane; and sister, Martha Hanson.

He is survived by his children Russell (Kris), Yolanda Pfaff (Ted), Alan, John, Laura, Reine McIntosh (Brian), George Jr. III, Carissma, Joanna, and David (Lynette; 24 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

George had 35 years serving as a deacon in the Catholic Church.

His love for music involved building and playing the violin.

Along with tuning pianos, he raised bees for many years.

They moved from Buffalo, MN to Deer Park, WA in 1997.

By the grace of God George and Garnette got involved with Our Lady of the Lake, then a Mission Church in Tum Tum.

That same year, George a deacon in the Catholic Church, was instrumental in preparing the community to become a parish in the Diocese of Spokane.

Deacon George provided religious training for adults seeking council and knowledge of the Catholic Faith.

He was a quiet faith filled leader who prepared couples for marriage and their children for baptism.

By the Grace of God and the guidance of Deacon George, Our Lady of the Lake parishioners pray to discern the voice of the Spirit and acknowledge the face of Christ in all they meet.

George loved life, laughter, traveling, family and the outdoors.

Deacon George had served as volunteer support unit for Stevens County fire district 1 for 5 years.

George will be missed by so many friends and the many groups he belong to.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Lake in the Tum Tum community center on Monday, May 6th at 10:00 am.
