‘The Outsiders’ opens at Central Valley High

The drama department at Central Valley High School is capping its 2012-13 season with “The Outsiders,” based on the classic novel by S.E. Hinton.

The story follows Ponyboy, a member of the Greaser gang in the 1960s. It explores the socioeconomic differences between the Greasers and the well-off “Socs.” When Ponyboy and his friend Johnny are attacked by two Soc boys, Johnny accidently kills one of them and the two Greasers flee the town.

The cast: Nathan Mullen as Ponyboy; Jon Graham as Johnny; Jesen Korver as Bob; Landon Toth as Randy; Noah Rhodes as Dallas; Henry Lorge as Two-Bit; Colton Westley as Darry; Cory Pederson as Sodapop; Emma Larson as Sandy; Alanna Hamilton as Cherry; Amanda Guarisco as Marcia; Madeleine Chambers as Mrs. Obriant; Patrick Crumb as the doctor; Madeleine Chambers as the nurse; Anika Martin as Mrs. Syme; Geremy Tripp as Paul Molden; Chris Pittella as Tim Shepard.

The Greasers are played by Ryan Wells, Aaron Croom, Geremy Tripp and Jed Jensen.

The Socs are played by Jake Lindley, Chris Pittella, Jacob Childers and Nicholas Reis.

The technical crew is Aaron Croom, Jacob Childers, Devan Morgan, Rachel Butler, Selena Elliott, Taylor Morris, Emily Boynton, Colton Weber, Matt Reeves, Alexandria McLaughlin, Anika Martin and Valerie Beale.
