Obituary: Northway, Grace A.

Age 94

NORTHWAY, Grace A.

My Mom, even at 94, was one of those very special people you meet once in a lifetime - hence, her title, “Amazing Grace”.

Grace was born in Baker, Oregon on September 28, 1918, she passed away May 1, 2013 in Spokane.

She was raised by her Grama and Grandpa Jay on a farm.

They had a very hard life, but always filled with love and affection.

This learned loved carried over to the meeting and marrying of my Dad, Ray.

Mom and Dad would have been married 73 years this June had he not passed away.

But, I believe they missed each other so much that the date they reunited was May 1, 2009 and May 1, 2013 - four years to the day.

When my Mother loved, it was deeply and forever - and I’ve had that comfort my entire life.

She put her grandchildren, Jim, Jena, Jason and Mathew in her heart forever, as well as three great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Rachel and Dakota, along with her brother John, wife Claudina and all her relatives.

Mother was fortunate to be able to stay in her home and be a housewife, although, in her spare time she and my Dad built five houses from the ground up.

Her homes were filled with crocheting, flowers, huge gardens in the backyards and friends visiting.

However, what made her house a home was the faith in her Lord.

He carried her through many of life’s trials and her faith never waivered.

And, now she is with him and everyone she has missed for so many years.

My Mom was my source of strength, an example to live up to and the kind of Mother any person would be proud to have.

I will love her and miss her until we meet again - and then, forever.

See you soon Mom!!

Susan Rae.
