Silverwood swings into action
Silverwood is going totally ’80s this opening weekend: Single tickets cost $19.88, in honor of the year the North Idaho theme park opened its gates to thrill-seekers.
Silverwood – on Highway 95 about 20 miles north of Coeur d’Alene – opens Saturday and will continue offering early-season discounts as it gears up for summer. Moms get in free on Mother’s Day weekend when accompanied by their families. Non-moms get in for $36.99, or $20.99 for youths and seniors. Later, the park is offering an all-ages half-price weekend (May 18-19) and free admission for military personnel, veterans, police officers and firefighters with ID (May 25-27; tickets for spouses and kids are half-price at the gate).
No word yet on opening dates for the park’s new rides: SpinCycle, which rotates riders on a circular “vehicle” as they swing to a height of 104 feet; and the biplane-themed Barnstormer.
WHEN: The park will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays until Memorial Day weekend, when it’ll open seven days a week.
WHERE: 27843 N. Highway 95.
COST: A one-day pass ordinarily costs $43.99 at the gate. Go to www.silverwoodthemepark.com for more ticket prices, discount offers and park hours through summer.
