ADAMSON, Lawrence A.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lawrence (Larry) Adamson, age 84.

He was in born in Ronan, Montana on March 12, 1929 to Charley and Alice Adamson.

He passed away the morning of April 29, 2013 with his family at his side.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lee, daughters, Dianna (Larry) Kadeg, Redmond, WA; Sharon (Wayne) Logan, Redding, CA; son Brian Adamson, Seattle, WA; sister, Anne Schmidt, Cerratos, CA; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Amy Jo Sooy-Tollefson, Spokane, WA; Erna Jean Bauer, Cheney, WA; brother-in-law, Richard Melville (Diane) Cheney, WA; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charley and Alice Adamson.

The family moved to Marshall, WA in 1954 and operated the Marshall Grocery Store.

Larry graduated from Cheney High School in 1947 and worked at the Safeway Store in Cheney until he enlisted on October 2, 1950 in the US Air Force.

He was stationed In Texas, Guam, Japan, Okinawa and Fairchild Air Force Base.

After his discharge on July 31, 1954 Mary Lee and Larry purchased the grocery store in Lamont, WA (Larry’s Market).

In 1973 they sold their store in Lamont and moved to Happy Camp, CA where they had another Larry’s Market.

Upon their retirement in 1990 they moved to Reno, NV where they still reside.

They enjoyed traveling the United States, Mexico and many of the European countries with family and friends.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, May 9, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Cheney United Methodist Church, 4th and G Street.

Viewing will be held at Cheney Funeral Chapel, Wednesday, May 8th from 6:00 pm -7:00 pm and Thursday, May 9 from 1:00 pm - 1:45 pm at the church.
