Obituary: Justus, Howard Kenneth

Age 90

JUSTUS, Howard Kenneth (Age 91) Howard was born November 26, 1922, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho to John and Minnie Justus.

He passed away on May 1, 2013 in Post Falls, Idaho after a brief illness.

Living in Harrison, Idaho, he attended Coeur d’Alene High School and played basketball for the school and graduated.

He was a Harrison “Oldtimer” of 90 years.

Further schooling was interrupted by WWII and he signed up with the Army Air Force where he served his time at Lockheed working on bomb sights.

After his service and return to Coeur d’Alene, Howard met and married Mavis Stackhouse on November 11, 1947.

After marriage and family, he went to work for Kaiser Trentwood as a maintenance foreman and after 27 years, retired.

During his last four years he worked for Kaiser at the Valeo Plant in Ghana, West Africa.

Howard and Mavis traveled the world.

They settled in Post Falls, Idaho and he built a home on the Spokane River; where they enjoyed many wonderful years together.

Howard is survived by his loving wife of 66 years and his only daughter Janet and son-In-Law Joseph Perez.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and four sisters.
