Here’s the Dirt: Pizza eatery sets Tri-Cities location

The Spokane and Coeur d’Alene firm operating Fire Artisan Pizza is opening a third restaurant with that name this summer in the Tri-Cities.

Urban Restaurant Concepts, LLC, plans to open its new craft pizza eatery at 1022 N. Columbia Center Blvd., in Kennewick. They have two restaurants now, in Coeur d’Alene and Spokane.

About 40 Tri-Cities workers will be employed there.

HDG Hissong+ Hurtado Design Group, of Spokane, is doing the building’s design.

Dentist to open two clinics

Yakima-based dentist Dr. Derek Thompson plans to open two new clinics in Spokane. He’s purchased the property at 2121 N. Division St. for roughly $300,000, and the former Evergreen Pet store at 14319 E. Sprague Ave. in Spokane Valley for about $650,000.

The Division location, last used as a restaurant, has been demolished.

No dates have been announced for when the two clinics will open.

Marshall Clark, of Clark Pacific Real Estate, of Spokane, handled both transactions.

Business park gets new tenants

Absco Alarms Inc. and Coast Aluminum & Architectural have both moved into buildings at Spokane Business & Industrial Park.

BASCO is leading 1,555 square feet of space.

Coast Aluminum & Architectural, a warehouse distributor of metal products, is leasing 24,000 square feet.

Lydig wins contract

Lydig Construction of Spokane has won a contract from the Wine Science Center Development Authority to build a $23 million research and teaching facility at Washington State University Tri-Cities in Richland.

The 39,000-square- foot building is expected to be finished by late next year.

The center will focus on grape growing challenges in the Pacific Northwest.

More than $18 million has been pledged in the past two years for the project.
