We’ve lost balance

On Friday, April 26, 2013, history was made when Aaron Rodgers took a $110 million contract with the Packers making him the highest-paid football player of all time.

I am a diehard Packers fan, but I don’t like how much football players are being paid. I think it is crazy to pay someone that much just to play football. Football is fun to watch but it’s not what we should put all our money into.

Entertainment has become our main focus. Food and resources are taken for granted. All we care about is being amused. Whether it’s football, TV, Facebook, or video games, we pour billions of dollars into them. I see so many students not care about their grades. They just like to text their friends and play games on their phones; they don’t care about their future.

I am not saying we should all become workaholics and not care at all about shows and sports, but we should be balanced. I can safely say we are very unbalanced with work ethic and entertainment.
