SILER, Mary Elizabeth

Mary Elizabeth Siler, St. John resident, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013 in Walla Walla, Washington.

She was 87.

Viewing will be Thursday from 1:00 to 5:00 at Bruning Funeral Home and also for one hour prior to the funeral service in St. John.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, May 10th at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in St. John.

Burial will follow in the Pine City Cemetery with a catered reception following at the Kenova Grange Hall, Pine City.

Mary was born November 28, 1925 in Spokane to Frank and Elizabeth Martin.

She attended Catholic schools and graduated from Holy Names Academy in Spokane.

She received her teaching certificate and taught school for a few years before getting married.

She married Laverne “Sy” Siler February 16, 1952.

They farmed in the Pine City area for many years and Mary kept busy as a homemaker and mother.

She was a loving and devoted wife and mother.

She was a member of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in St. John.

Mary enjoyed sewing, golfing, playing pinochle and bridge and was an avid traveler.

She and Sy enjoyed trips throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe and Asia.

They moved off the ranch and into St. John in 1979.

He passed away December 21, 2006.

Mary is survived by her children; Michael (Linda) Siler, St. John; Theresa (John) Heitstuman, Walla Walla; and Tim (Val) Siler, Endicott; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
