A wake-up call
Wake up, Bonner County!
Did you want Obamacare? Neither did the Bonner County Republican Central Committee. They unanimously passed a resolution against the health care exchanges. Despite our wishes, all three of our elected Bonner County Republican legislators, Reps. George Eskridge and Eric Anderson and Sen. Shawn Keogh, voted for the exchanges in mid-March.
Health care exchanges, whether federal or state, are the only way Obamacare can be implemented in a state. By the way, Idaho is the only Republican state that voted for the exchanges. Other Republican states said no to the exchanges and are using their sovereignty to fight this issue, as U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts suggested in the Obamacare decision. Yet our representatives refused to even consider the sovereignty issue.
I noted that our legislators’ votes for the exchanges are consistent with campaign contributions each of them received from the health, insurance and medical industries. Keough accepted $5,550. Anderson $4,600 and Eskridge $2,300. http://www.followthemoney.org/ database/StateGlance/
This pack of three doesn’t seem to be listening to the voice of the people they represent. Let’s remember this in the 2014 election. Hopefully, there will be true conservatives running against them.
