McKenna Cabbage was dominant on the mound and Colville scored early and often in a 12-3 win over West Valley in the District 7 2A title game Saturday at Colville.
The win gave the Indians the top seed to the regional tournament.
Cabbage allowed three runs on four hits while striking out 12 in seven innings.
Taylor Kellum, Hannah Smith and Jalene Howell powered Colville’s offense. Kellum was 4 for 5 with a double and a triple and Smith and Howell each had three hits and two RBIs.
The second and final seed to regionals went to Deer Park after the Stags topped West Valley 3-1.
Kylie Sweeney pitched all seven innings for Deer Park, giving up a run on nine hits.
West Valley had the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh, but Sweeney fired a strikeout to end the game.
West Valley was eliminated.
District 7 1A
Taylor Sheldon went 4 for 4 and drove in three runs to guide host Lakeside to a 12-2 win over Kettle Falls in the title game in Nine Mile Falls.
Nikki Tiffany went the distance on the mound for the Eagles. She gave up two runs on five hits while striking out six.
Lakeside secured the No. 1 seed to the subregional tournament and Kettle Falls is No. 2.
Riverside earned the third and final seed to subregionals with a 13-9 comeback-victory over Medical Lake.
The Rams scored three runs in the fifth and four more in the sixth to erase a 9-6 deficit.
Kyra Winkler had a two-run home run and Jacy Hunt hit a two-run double in the sixth for the Rams.
Idaho 5A play-in
Coeur d’Alene earned a berth to the state playoffs with a 10-0 win over Capital, which was eliminated.
Idaho 4A Region I
Lakeland edged Sandpoint 6-5 to earn a spot in the state playoffs.
The Bulldogs were eliminated.
Idaho 3A play-in
Buhl blanked Kellogg 3-0 in Grangeville in a state play-in game.
The Wildcats are done for the season.
