Obituary: Berry, Barbara Jean (Henderson)

Age 83

BERRY, Barbara Jean (Henderson) (Age 83) Barbara passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 5, 2013 due to com-plications from surgery.

She was born in Spokane, Washington to Walter and Isabelle Henderson on October 6, 1929.

She attended Wilson Elementary and Lewis & Clark High School, where she was a cheerleader and played on the golf team.

Barb graduated from Eastern Washington State College with a degree in Education.

While working at the Crescent during Christmas break she met a fellow future teacher named Jim Berry and they were married December 26, 1951 during a record-breaking snow storm.

Barb loved being a wife and mother, gardening, reading, painting and summers at the lake.

She had a wonderful sense of humor and kept us all in stitches.

She was a longtime member of Opportunity Presbyterian Church and Chapter R, P.E.O.

Barbara is survived by her husband of sixty-two years, James W. Berry; children Katherine Smith (Darrell), Luanne Niggemyer (Ken) and Bruce Berry (Kris); grandchildren James Berry, Travis Berry (Tamara), Melinda Smith, Carl Niggemyer (Lise), Emily Smith and Beth Niggemyer; great-grandchild Amelia Berry; brother William Henderson (Darleen) and his family.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 14, 11:00 a.m. at Opportunity Presbyterian Church.
