Obituary: Cox, Stanley J.

Age 82

COX, Stanley J.

(Age 81) Passed away Tuesday morning, May 7, 2013 at his home in Spokane, WA.

Stan was born May 12, 1931 to Joe and Coletta (Heitstuman) Cox at Uniontown, WA.

He attended his schooling at Pullman and graduated from the Pullman High School in 1949.

Mr. Cox farmed in the Pullman area most of his life.

He married Maxine Taylor on June 14, 1963 at Pullman, WA.

After he retired from farming, the couple managed the Statesman Condominiums in Pullman.

Maxine passed away in 2000.

Stan moved to Spokane in 2006 where he has made his home since.

Stan was a long time member of the Pullman Junior Chamber of Commerce.

He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Stan enjoyed fishing, playing bingo, trips to Elko, Nevada, reading, and coffee and cookies with his friends.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Coletta Cox, his brother Bill, his sister Dorothy Vorhies and stepson, Mike Taylor.

He is survived by a sister, Carol Absalonson of Spokane, a step-daughter Sharon Ledeman of Pullman, granddaughters Lisa and Kari, several great grand children, numerous nieces and nephews, his companion, Darlene Kinney and her family, including a “special” granddaughter, Bailey and her brothers, Joey and Gaige.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, May 13, 2013, at 10:30 A.M. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 420 NE Ash St., Pullman, WA with Father Frank Bach officiating.

Cremation has been held and his ashes will be buried in the Pullman Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Stan’s name to Horizon Hospice, 123 W. Cascade Way, Spokane, WA, 99208.
