Our Vietnam Hero, he was a stoic man of strength and fortitude who never backed down for what was right.
He fought the good fight, even in his illness to the very last day, never giving up.
He taught our family and his friends so very much.
He was a great planner and manager.
Dave was born in Tucson AZ in 1952 to John and Julia Greever and he parted at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane peacefully on May 4th surrounded by his family.
Born to an Air Force family Dave grew up in various states as a child including California, Illinois, Nevada, South Carolina, South Dakota as well as Arizona.
Dave himself enlisted in the Air Force at 18, right after he graduated from Palo Verde High School in Tucson and was immediately sent to Vietnam to serve for one year.
He was then sent to FAFB WA where he worked until 2007 and lived in Washington State for the rest of his life.
His trade was Electrician and later he went to school in Texas and Florida to be trained as a Cathodic Protection Engineer where for many years he ran that program out of his own office at FAFB.
He served 37 years with the Air Force mostly as a Civilian until he retired in 2007.
Dave adored his family.
His children and his grandsons meant the world to him.
He was very thoughtful and he loved nature.
He liked simple pleasures and was a very private, devoted and loyal man.
He loved to tell jokes and had a great sense of humor.
He spent a lot of time with creating, planning and drawing schematics and then applying his ideas on his projects for making things.
He especially liked working on his lathe, welding and building things such as a mini jeep, mini bike and go-kart for his children and later a go-kart for his grandsons.
There was nothing he couldn’t create, fix or build.
Dave is survived by his wife Cindy of 37 years; and his children Michael and Melissa; and grandsons Johnathan and Malachi.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his youngest daughter Michelle who parted in 1993.
He leaves behind his sister Diana and two nieces and a nephew in Phoenix; brother in law Leslie Bruens; sister and brothers-in-law Belinda and Dan Knoll and Becky and Brent Wagner as well as many nieces and nephews; his in-laws Leslie and Viktoria Bruens as well as many other extended family in Arizona, Illinois, Virginia and Germany.
He was greatly loved and respected and will be greatly missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Pine River Park at a later date and all family and friends will be notified.

Our heart-felt and sincere thanks to the ER staff at Sacred Heart as well as the ICU doctors and nurses who helped Dave into peace.
We also want to thank the many other medical professionals who were a part of Dave’s care over the last six years.
