Obituary: Kinsey, Jackie Deane “Jack”
Age 89
He was born to Herbert and Reba Kinsey in College Place, Washington on April 11, 1924.
They moved to Spokane when he was a child and he grew up next to Manito Duck Pond, ran track and graduated from Lewis Clark High School.
Jack has joined his ‘bride’ Inez at rest, they were married November 6, 1943 in San Diego.
Jack is survived by his children, daughter Jonelle Kinsey, Spokane, daughter Suzie Dimmitt (Ron), Aloha, OR and son J.D.
Kinsey (Loretta), Pasco; three grandsons, Todd Dimmitt, Aloha, Brad Dimmitt, Aloha and David Marquardt, Jr., Spokane; five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jack was a member of the Masonic Lodge Spokane 34 and Valley of Spokane Orient of Washington Scottish Rite.
He retired from Pacific Northwest Bell in 1982 and was a Quest Pioneer Life Member.
Jack was also a member of Aloha, Oregon American Legion.
He served as President of the Communication Workers of America in the Columbia Basin during the 1960’s.
Jack also worked on the United Way Committee in Moses Lake and served as Dad advisor to the DeMolay Organization.
Jack entered the Navy in 1942 after Graduation and served in WWII and returned for the Korean Conflict in 1950.
Jack returned to Pacific Northwest Bell and moved his family from Spokane to Moses Lake in 1955.
Jack and Inez returned to his beloved Manito Park area in 1974.
In 2000 he had finally had enough of the snow and they moved to Aloha, Oregon.
Dad was happiest when he was taking his family camping, boating, fishing or hunting.
Jack loved to travel and explore the great National Parks in our area.
He loved growing his flowers, tomatoes and cherry tomatoes as well as dabbling in photography.
Jack was a truly extraordinary father and good friend to his many friends and co-workers.
Donations in Jack’s memory may be made to Hospice Care of Northwest, Portland, OR or the Humane Society for Animals.
There will be a celebration of his life in Spokane at a later date.
