Worked at the Whitman Hotel in Walla Walla, WA as a teen.
He joined the Navy, working as an engine man.
He became an apprentice baker on Lombar Ave. in Portland, Oregon.
In Portland he also worked for Albertsons, Safeway and Tradewell.
In 1977 he moved with his family, working as a baker until retirement.
Girod was preceded in death by parents Vernon and Phillis McReynolds, brothers Bob and Virgil McReynolds, and one son, Alan McReynolds.
Girod leaves behind a wife, Dolores (Layman) McReynolds; son Steven McReynolds; daughter-in-law Naomi McReynolds; grandsons Michael, Eric, Jacob McReynolds; one great-grandson Lucas McReynolds; and one sister, Loretta Dilbeck from Marietta, GA.
