Obituary: Murray, Eileen Margaret

Age 81

MURRAY, Eileen Margaret (Age 81) Went to be with our Heavenly Father on May 8th, 2013 surrounded by her entire family and lifelong friend, Vivian Wendt.

Eileen was born in Butte, Montana on February 5th, 1932 to Daniel and Hannah Sullivan.

She graduated from Girls Central, located in Butte, in 1950.

After graduation, she continued her education at Carroll College, where she earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing.

On August 27th, 1955 she married the love of her life Jim Murray (truly a marriage made in Heaven), that lasted 57 years young.

They raised four children: Daniel (Kolleen) Murray, Peggy (Alex) Johnson, Patrick (Charlene) Murray, and John Murray.

In 1958 Jim and Eileen moved to Spokane.

She spent most of her career at Sacred Heart Hospital, giving selflessly to newborns and their moms.

During her many years of caregiving, her passion for mothers and babies was realized by all who knew her.

She had an amazing ability to balance her career and family.

She was a proud grandmother of 11 grandchildren and each one of them brought her great joy.

In return they received the most precious gift of all, someone who cherished individually their milestones in life.

She will be remembered for her strength and compassion.

Eileen was preceded in death by her father Daniel Sullivan, her mother Hannah Sullivan, sister Marie Haggarty, brothers Joseph Sullivan and Reverend James Sullivan.

Eileen is survived by her sister Theresa Sullivan of Helena, Montana.

A Rosary will be held on May 12th at 7:00 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 am on May 13th.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Eileen’s name to All Saints Catholic School.
