Flowers go to bed: Tuong Nguyen, gardener at Manito Park in Spokane, walks a flat of marigolds into position to plant in the Duncan Gardens. Monday was the first day of planting 35,000 annuals in the park’s Duncan Gardens. Other flowers in the beds include red and white begonias and red geraniums. (Dan Pelle)
