Lake City Playhouse’s production of “K2” will represent the Inland Northwest at AACTFest 2013, June 17-23 in Carmel, Ind.

The festival, sponsored by the American Association of Community Theatre, brings together community theater companies from across the nation for a week of competition. “K2” won the Region IX theater festival in March to qualify for nationals.

The show, starring Lake City’s artistic director George Green and Todd Kehne and directed by Troy Nickerson, is about two friends facing life and death on K2, the world’s second highest mountain. It was performed at the Coeur d’Alene theater earlier this year.

The final rehearsal of “K2” will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at University High School, 13420 E. 32nd Ave., in Spokane Valley. Admission is free.
