Spokane Police officer faces allegations of misconduct

Fri., May 17, 2013, 1:54 p.m.

A Spokane Police officer is on administrative leave for allegations of misconduct.

Spokane County Sheriff’s Office and Spokane Police Department are investigating the allegations against Officer Jeff Graves as a criminal matter.

The department was made aware of the allegations on May 9. Police Chief Frank Straub placed him on leave while the department investigates the matter internally.

Police ombudsman Tim Burns says he has a role in these types of investigations as a neutral party, making sure it’s fairly and properly done. He’s “not there to judge the officer,” he said.
