Obituary: Giudice, Mary Evelyn Olson

Age 90

GIUDICE, Mary Evelyn Olson (Age 90) Mary Evelyn Olson was born to Francis Leo Spils and Gertrude Sophia Druffel in Tekoa, Washington on December 8, 1922.

She went to our Heavenly Father, to join with her loved ones on May 17th due to complications from congestive heart failure.

She went to Grandview Elementary School thru fourth grade then attended a Catholic School in Colton, Washington and graduated at Tekoa High School in May 1940.

On December 8, 1941 she married Walter Homer Olson.

They operated a farm and had six children.

Evelyn was a den mother, bluebird leader, and 4-H leader.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Walter, and three of their six children (Alfred Joseph Olson, Linda Kay Taff, James Kristin Olson) and one grandson (Jeremy Isaac Olson).

Children still living are Michael Lee (Kathleen Reilly) Olson of Alamo, CA, Lisa Ann (Emmitt) Smith of Sandy, Utah, and Sheila Beth (Mark) Yama of Troy, ID.

Evelyn married John Peter Giudice on July 24, 1999.

Her husband John survives at the rural Plummer home.

Also surviving are 18 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.

Evelyn was active in the Sacred Heart Parish in DeSmet, ID, and the Lady of Perpetual Help Chapel in Plummer, ID.

She loved playing the piano, reading, and sewing.

A Private Family Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at DeSmet, Idaho.

Father Bob Erickson will officiate at the service.

Burial will follow at Goldenrod Cemetery in Tekoa, WA.

A public memorial Mass will be scheduled in June.
