Value Village to relocate

Savers Inc., based in Bellevue, will move the current Value Village in Spokane Valley later this year into the building that once housed the Old Country Buffet.

Currently at 13112 E. Sprague Ave., the discount and vintage-item retail store will reopen after remodeling is completed at 12205 E. Sprague Ave., at the corner of Pines Road.

In January 2012 the restaurant closed its doors following a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing.

Value Village Inc. is a subsidiary of privately held Savers Inc. The company operates more than 220 Value Village locations in the U.S., Canada and Australia.

Sports Authority opens in CdA

Sports Authority opened a new Coeur d’Alene store this weekend, at Silver Lake Mall, 200 W. Hanley Ave.

The sporting goods and apparel retailer is taking 44,000 square feet in the mall, filling the space last used by Timberline Trading Co. The store is open seven days a week.

Bakery opens in CdA mall

Beth and David Hobson have opened Sweet Moments Bakery in 500 square feet of the Silver Lake Mall in Coeur d’Alene. They’ve taken a vacant space next to Sports Authority.

The couple is also co-owners with two partners of the Coeur d’Alene Golf Course restaurant. The bakery will be open 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday.

Retirees get fitness center

Riverview Retirement Community has opened a 13,000- square-foot  Aquatics and Fitness  Center at their north Spokane center, 2007 E. Upriver Drive.

The new pool construction cost roughly $5 million.

The fitness center features a wheelchair-accessible lap pool, a resistance pool, a walking track and an array of modern cardio and strength- conditioning equipment.
