Obituary: Saxton, Max Elden

Age 86

SAXTON, Max Elden (Age 86) On May 18, 2013 Max rowed the “Titanic II” to the Pearly Gates singin’ the good ole country tunes.

He was ready to meet his maker with a fishing rod in one hand and a glass of Crown Royal in the other.

Born on August 12, 1926 in Declo, Idaho to William and Kathleen Saxton.

Max was one of eight children.

Max was a Veteran in the Navy during WWII.

Married Betty in 1952 and raised their children in Riverton, WY and Spokane, WA.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting and raising vegetables.

He had a love for music and played numerous instruments and sang and played guitar for Saturday night dances.

He was a carpenter by trade and was known as the “go-to-fix-it-guy to all.

Max is survived by his wife Betty Saxton; children Sam Saxton (Tina), Kim Goebbert (David), Kay Saxton; grandchildren Jessica Palmer (Jake), Rozanne Rich (Kelly), Meghan Jones (Ryan) Kyle Saxton; great-grandchildren Ben Saxton, Nolan Rich, Ella Rich, Grace Palmer, Henry Jones.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 11:00 am at Hazen & Jaeger Funeral Home, 1306 N. Monroe Spokane, WA 99201.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Max’s name to Horizon Hospice, 123 W. Cascade Way, Spokane WA 99208.
