Obituary: Williams, Virginia Mary “Ginny”
WILLIAMS, Virginia Mary “Ginny” Was born to William and Amelia Whipps in Mead, WA on August 30, 1924. She attended grade school and high school in Mead where she met Guy (Bud) Williams; they graduated in 1942. During WWII, Ginny worked as an aircraft dispatcher at what was then Geiger Field. This led to employment with Northwest Airlines and a travel business. She married Guy Williams on September 10, 1948 in Spokane, and the couple moved to Seattle where Guy was attending dental school. They were blessed with the arrival of their son Scott on July 11, 1949 and daughter Susan on June 3, 1951. Ginny led a happy, productive life while raising her family, in spite of a rheumatic heart condition. Her heart finally stopped beating on May 14 at Royal Park Nursing Center. We are indebted to the fine doctors and nursing staff at Sacred Heart cardiology who enabled Ginny to reach 88 years of age. Her husband was blessed to be by her side as our Lord Jesus took her home. Ginny loved and is loved by many friends at First Church of the Nazarene, the Little Spokane Garden Club, residents at the Vintage, and the many and various craft shows where she sold and shared her, “Ginny’s, Munchy, Crunchy Peanut Butter Brittle.” Ginny was preceded in death by her parents and her five brothers and five sisters. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Dr. Guy Williams, her son Dr. Scott Williams (Jan), her daughter Susan Murphy (John), five grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at the First Church of the Nazarene, located at 9004 N Country Homes Blvd, on May 25th at 10am. The family suggests memorials be made to the First Church of the Nazarene.
