Obituary: Childs, Stanley Arnold

Age 81

CHILDS, Stanley Arnold Born September 3, 1931 in Whittier, California to Letha and Oscar Childs.

Passed away Sunday morning, May 19, 2013, at Sacred Heart Medical Center due to declining health.

Stan graduated from Valley High School, Valley, Washington in 1949, going directly into the Air Force where he served his country proudly from 1949 to 1953.

Graduated from WSU, Pullman and with his family began his career in Seattle, WA before moving to Anchorage, Alaska for the next 30 years as a self employed CPA.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, skin diving, and snorkeling in Hawaii.

An avid sports fan of the Yankees, the Raiders, 49ers, and our own Gonzaga Bulldogs.

Stan loved his family and friends, and we all loved him.

Always ready with a listening ear and a story from him.

He was a people person and loved life.

He is survived by Florence Miller Childs, his wife of 60 years.

Three children, Mike, wife Jacque of North Pole, AK, Lynn, husband Chuck, Spokane, John, wife Kathy, St.

Cloud, Florida.

Grandchildren Alana Castanon (Adrian), Venice Beach, CA, Kate Childs, North Pole, AK, Rock Davis, Lake Elsinore, CA, Holly Edwards (Max) Spokane, WA, Chris Rindal, Spokane, Libby Rindal, Spokane, Elizabeth Childs (Tim) Salem, MA.

Great-grandchildren, Grace and Max Edwards, Spokane, Alexandra Haigh, Salem, MA.

Stan will never be forgotten.

His witty sense of humor and his love will be with us forever.

A Memorial will be held promptly at 6:00 to 7:00 pm Saturday the 25th of May at Riblet Mansion/Arbor Crest Winery, 4705 North Fruithill Road, Spokane, WA.
