Obituary: Zoesch, Jeanette

ZOESCH, Jeanette In honor of Jeanette Margaret Zoesch, born September 23, 1926, the daughter of James and Beatrice McDonald in Holdingford, MN, passed in peace with her life and her God on May 20, 2013.

She is preceded in death by her twin-sister Jean Marie, her parents, her son Timothy Patrick, her brother James McDonald, her husband Allen and her daughter Mary Zoesch-Bayer.

As a high school student, she moved with her family from Minnesota; met, and then married her Roger’s High School sweetheart, Allen Walter Zoesch on October 16, 1947.

Jeanette cared for her home and large family, participated in the state and local Democratic Party and was a long time and active member of St. Patrick Catholic church where she was a Eucharistic Minister and member of the Legion of Mary.

Through all this, Jeanette never failed to have time for her family and all friends in need.

Her caring ways and intelligence were flavored with the charm, fun and passion of her no-nonsense, full-Irish temperament.

As a wife, Jeanette was deeply loyal, caring, and loving.

Married for 62 years and 7 months before Allen passed in May 2009; she looked forward to, “in God’s time”, being reunited with the love of her life.

This couple was truly one heart and soul, “always, in all ways” and they will be through eternity.

As a mother, Mom definitely had her hands full with her nine children.

Yet somehow, still, Mom always had time for each of us, always backing and boosting us up.

Her encouragement and practical advice were often lovingly given with wonderfully colorful but well understood old-Irish phrases like “…or get off the pot” and with joking threats of “don’t make me get my Shillelagh”.

Mom, you were the perfect combination of sugar and spice.

Jeanette was passionate about her Catholic faith, her kids and her husband, truth, justice, compassion, and taking action.

These will remain as cherished and ingrained tenets, and they will live in the hearts, minds and actions of her beloved brother, William McDonald, and her eight surviving children and their spouses: Sharron and Steve Gump, Janice Zoesch, Terry and Julie Zoesch, Laurence and Sherri Zoesch, Daniel and Margaret (Missy) Zoesch, James and Beth Zoesch, Kathleen and Glen Campbell, and William Zoesch.

Her gifts to this world are also growing in her 28 grandchildren, 42 great-grand- children and 3 great-great-grandchildren - every one of them loved and dear to her heart.

From all your kids Mom, thank you so much for being so good.

We love you with all our hearts - always and all ways.

From each of her children to all the staff at Riverview Care Center, we offer our sincerest thanks and most heartfelt appreciation for all you have done for Mom.

You all are truly angles on earth and we can’t thank you enough.
