Obituary: Carroll, Agatha “Aggie” (Age 93)
Aggie found the love of her life and partner of 69 years in fellow Casper native, Robert (Bob) Carroll.
In 1939 Aggie and Bob moved to Spokane where they married and set up roots on Calispel St. and later, Mica, WA where they lived happily for 30 years on a large, beautiful farm.
Aggie loved caring for her kids, her home and her garden while Bob made a career as a truck salesman with International Harvester.
Bob and Aggie enjoyed an active life together with their beloved children, Virgine (Jeannie) and Robert Jr. After retirement, Bob and Aggie traveled the world and enjoyed long winters in Arizona, where they migrated each winter for 30 years.
A constant in Aggie’s life was a loving, devoted family.
She was blessed to have found Bob as her caring partner throughout life and they, together, were the matriarch and patriarch of a close-knit extended family - a family that enjoys getting together to laugh and catch up on the latest activities in one another’s lives.
Aggie passed away peacefully on May 14, 2013.
While her presence will be greatly missed, as Bob’s has been since his passing in 2008, her family is comforted by the thought of the two of them being reunited again.
Aggie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and sister Elaine “Tootsie” Becker.
Aggie leaves behind sister Lorraine Berto and her devoted children and their spouses; Jeannie (Carroll) Paukert and Jerry Paukert and Robert W. Carroll Jr. and Cathy Carroll.
Her grandchildren and their spouses include Shannon (Carroll) Jordan and Sam Jordan, Kellie (Carroll) Fremont and Kurt Fremont, Mike and Kathy Paukert and Rob Paukert.
Her great-grandchildren were lucky to have had her in their lives for so many years.
They include Alex, Annaliese, Zack, Emily, Jack, Annabel and Beck.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Saint Francis Xavier Parish, 3715 N Standard St., Spokane, WA 99207.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery.
