She was born December 3, 1936 to Leslie Slinkard and Bertha (Brown) Slinkard.
Francene grew up riding horses, was a princess in the Rosalia rodeo in 1952, was an avid barrel racer and rodeo fan.
She also worked in the Rockford area as a waitress, worked at the carrot factory, Sacred Heart Hospital and her first job was with the Spokesman-Review.
Later in life Francene enjoyed playing cards, baking and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons; Kevin (Nikki), Doug and Danny.
Stepsons; Robert (April) and Tom (Sandra); grandchildren: Josh, Megan, Raeanne, Austin, Travis, Steven, Cheyenne, Sara and Robee.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother and Marv, her companion of 24 years.
A memorial service will held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, at Spokane Valley United Methodist Church, 115 N. Raymond Rd.
