Obituary: Huffman, Verla M.
Age 92
She was born on February 26, 1921, to Joe and Leona Turosky.
She was one of four children including her sisters Audrey, Laurel and Reta.
Verla graduated from Springdale High School in 1938.
Following graduation, she attended Morse Beauty School in Spokane.
She began working for Grace Bunker in her beauty salon from 1939-1942.
Verla married Harry in 1942.
They had 59 wonderful years together.
Due to Harry serving in the Air Force, they moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and then returned to Washington State.
Together Harry and Verla raised two children Gayle and Terry, at Long Lake Dam.
Verla and Harry moved to Tum Tum after Harry’s retirement.
Verla worked as a secretary at the Community Center; she was involved in many community activities.
At Harry’s passing in 2001, Verla moved to Spokane.
She enjoyed her home and family, knitting, painting and working on family geneology.
She is survived by Gayle Hennings, Terry and Sharon Huffman, three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Heritage Chapel.
