Obituary: Mcdonell, Theresa (Leary)

McDONELL, Theresa (Leary) Was born June 11, 1924 in Wallace, Idaho and raised in the nearby mining community of Burke, ID.

Her parents were Daniel Leary (County Cork, Ireland) and Sarah (Doyle) Leary (County Kildare, Ireland).

She graduated from Wallace HS and from Sacred Heart School of Nursing.

She married Art McDonell (1918 - 2002) in 1949 in Spokane where together they lived and raised a family.

She is survived by five children, Bill (Carolyn) Spokane WA., Mike (Sheri) Sacramento, CA.

Molly (Pat) Gresham, OR., John (Mindy) New Orleans, LA., and Tom (Mary Catherine) Bellingham, WA., 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Our mom was a great lady!

Faith, family and friends were the center of her life.

Her 40 year nursing career was a perfect fit for her and the infants and families in her care.

She was an avid reader and bridge player.

She loved family trips, holiday gatherings, new recipes, and visits to her beloved children and grandchildren.

Her passing marks the end of a generation within our family.

The gates of heaven have opened wide to welcome her.

We will always remember the love, wisdom, the compassion in her heart and the warmth of her smiling Irish eyes.

Memorial Mass June 8, 2013, 10:00am at Sacred Heart Church.
