Obituary: Wright, Clary

WRIGHT, Clary (Age 90) It is said most people laugh 15 times a day. For Clary Wright, it was probably 100 times a day! Magnetic joy and love were his gifts. No one could forget his contagious enthusiasm and love of life, coupled with many talents and interests. Clary was born in Canon City, CO, graduated from Yakima High School in WA, and from Whitworth University in Spokane, WA, with a B.A. in Speech/Drama and Master’s degree in Education. Using his education, he taught various subjects and coached various sports in Leavenworth, Wenatchee and Spokane schools. Being a natural athlete, he also was Physical Director of the YMCA in Wenatchee and Spokane. In the communications/entertainment field, he was Master of Ceremonies for many civic and community clubs, radio and television shows, fairs, camps, and school assemblies. After three years of fighting deterioration of the body, and while at home, Clary peacefully went to be with his Savior and Lord the evening of May 16, 2013. Clary is survived by his dear wife of 39 years, Gail, and his five wonderful children: Clary Jr. (“Bud”), David and wife Pamela, Dan and wife Kayse (Denver, CO), Dennis and wife Jackie, and Tawni and husband Shawn. No less talented grandchildren are Ronda Mohr (Seattle), Jessica Wolfrum, Brandon Wright (Washington D.C.), Bryan Wright, and Christian Wright. Two great-grandchildren include Eric and Luke Wolfrum. Clary, in life we loved you as a husband, father and grandfather; in death we do the same. A musical memorial service will be held in Spokane at Faith Bible Church, 600 W. Cora, on Saturday, June 1st, at 11 AM, followed by a reception at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to Faith Bible Church, Sports Leadership Ministries, or a charity of your choice.
