Volunteers will clean the bluff

SOUTH HILL – Friends of the Bluff are at it again, maintaining the huge area sloping off High Drive.

Last year, the volunteer group cleaned up a little more than 6 acres. This year they hope to do another 7 acres.

Work parties meet at the intersection of 37th Avenue and High Drive. Wear sturdy shoes and gloves; keep sun protection in mind and bring water to drink.

Work parties are scheduled for Saturday at 9 a.m. and Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

Vintage market to stop at Revel 77

SOUTHEAST SPOKANE – Small Room Collective, a vendor fair and vintage market that tours the country in a 1963 Airstream Globetrotter camper, is having an event at Revel 77, 3223 E. 57th Ave., from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday.

Soaps, jewelry, pottery and vintage clothing are among the items for sale. Music will be provided throughout the day.

Fire District 9 plans health fair

MEAD – Spokane County Fire District 9 is holding its annual wellness fair and demonstration day June 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at its training center, 3801 E. Farwell Road.

The free event features demonstrations of auto accident and fire fighting rescue techniques and many different wellness and health screenings, and a chance to learn CPR.

Boy Scouts host ‘Dads and Dudes’

SPOKANE VALLEY – The Valley HUB and the Inland Northwest Council of the Boy Scouts of America will host a “Dads and Dudes Night” Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the HUB, 19619 E. Cataldo Ave.

The event features games and fun events for boys and their fathers, grandfathers or uncles. There will be relay races, skill competitions, basketball, pickleball, volleyball, soccer and more.

Annual yard sale set this weekend

ROCKFORD – The third annual Community Yard Sale will take place Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at various locations in town. Maps will be available at local businesses. Some sales will be set up in Rockford Park.

The event is hosted by the Rockford Community Center. To reach Rockford, head south from Spokane Valley on Highway 27.
