Obituary: Parker, Pastor Jim

PARKER, Pastor Jim (Age 62) Pastor Jim Parker died on Monday, May 27th while riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 2nd at 1:30pm at the Hennessey Funeral Home on Division Street in Spokane, Washington.

Jim Parker was born on April 3, 1951, in Oklahoma City, to James and Geraldine Parker.

His family later moved to Bremerton, WA, where he graduated from West Bremerton High School, and then went on to Northwest Bible College where he graduated with a degree in Biblical studies.

Jim married Rosalie (Duncan) Parker in 1972 in Woodland, WA, and they moved to Spokane in 1980, to serve as youth pastors at Glad Tidings Church.

Pastor Jim and Rosie later founded Living Word Christian Center (later renamed Arise Church) on the south hill where he served as Senior Pastor for 25 years.

Pastor Jim enjoyed playing golf, fishing and riding his Harley Davidson.

Above all, he loved his family with his whole heart, and gave his entire life to preaching the Gospel and serving and loving people.

He is survived by his wife, Rosalie Parker of Spokane, and his sons and daughters in-law, Jonathan and Kelly Parker of Boise and Josh and Marilyn Parker of Seattle, as well as his mother, Geraldine Parker of Bremerton, his brother, Larry Parker of Portland, his sister, Deanna Arnold of Belfair.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to Bob Ricci Ministries - “Dump to Destiny” orphanage.
