Obituary: Kettleson, Earl

Age 89

KETTLESON, Earl October 10, 1924 - October 28, 2013 Earl passed away peacefully on Monday October 28, 2013 at the Hospice of Spokane.

Earl was born in Los Angeles on October 10, 1924 to Carl and Mary Kettleson.

They moved to LaCrosse WA and Earl attended LaCrosse High School and was involved in sports until he left school early to join the Navy in 1942.

He served on the destroyer, USS Ordronaux in the Atlantic and Mediterranean campaigns.

While on liberty in New York City, he met Romaine Lavelle who he later married and were together for 63 years.

After leaving the service, they moved to Spokane WA.

In 1946, he was hired by Kaiser Aluminum at the Trentwood plant where he worked for 37 years.

Earl was very proud of his military service and his opportunities to participate in the Honor Flight program.

Earl also enjoyed his 50 year relationship with the Spokane Horseshoe Pitcher’s Association.

In his honor, a tournament was named after Earl.

Following the WSU Cougars, Seahawks and Mariners gave Earl many hours of excitement and pleasure.

Earl is survived by his daughter; Terry (John) Lindsay, Sons; Earl Kettleson and Wayne (Peggy) Kettleson, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held November 8th at 4 PM at St. John Vienney Church on Farr Rd.
