Two French journalists confirmed dead in Mali

Mcclatchy-Tribune

PARIS – Two French journalists from broadcaster Radio France Internationale were reported dead Saturday hours after being kidnapped in Mali, the French Foreign Ministry confirmed.

The two reporters, a man and a woman, were taken into an all-terrain vehicle by four armed men in the northern Malian city of Kidal, RFI reported. They were shot dead and their bodies were found a short time later north of the city, according to RFI.

No group has claimed responsibility for the deaths. The French government said it would begin work with Malian authorities to find out who was responsible for their murders.
