Sasquatch sweep past Wenatchee

Surrendering just 38 points in three sets, Community Colleges of Spokane swept visiting Wenatchee in NWAACC volleyball on Monday night at Fort Wright.

Brittany Evans had five service aces and 14 digs and Jacy Vining added eight kills and 10 digs to help lead the Sasquatch (29-13, 9-2 Eastern Region) to a 25-12, 25-10, 25-13 victory. Wenatchee is 6-24, 1-10.

Dana Norris had a team-leading 10 kills and Madison Zinsli (16) and Emily Russell (13) handled the majority of the setting for CCS, combing for 29 of the Sasquatch’s 38 assists.

Prep volleyball

Jennifer Aceves served three aces and had 11 digs to lead seventh-seeded Touchet to a 25-22, 23-25, 25-18, 25-21 victory at No. 6 Rosalia in the first round of the District 9 1B playoffs.

Next up for the Indians is a date with Colton on Wednesday night at Clarkston. Rosalia was eliminated.

Mackenzie Reddish had 15 straight serves for the Spartans and a team-high nine kills. Stacey Carrothers contributed 11 assists.

• Garfield-Palouse survived a five-setter against visiting LaCrosse-Washtucna, winning 23-25, 25-18, 25-18, 21-25, 15-12, to advance to a second-round match on Wednesday at Clarkston.

LaCrosse-Washtucna was eliminated with the loss.
