Hill guides Idaho to exhibition win

MOSCOW, Idaho – Connor Hill, one of only two returning starters from last year’s team, scored 22 points and led the Idaho men’s basketball team past the visiting Walla Walla University Wolves 90-49 Tuesday in an exhibition game.

It was the Vandals’ only exhibition prior to their season opener Saturday at home against Western Illinois.

Hill made 7 of 12 shots, including 3 of 7 from behind the 3-point line. Glen Dean and Bira Seck also reached double figures. Dean made all three of his 3-pointers and finished with 13 points and five assists, and Seck was 6 of 7 from the field and finished with 12 points and seven rebounds.

Idaho put the game away in the first half, outscoring Walla Walla 53-27.

Stephen Madison, the other returning starter from last year, pulled down six rebounds.

Ten newcomers, along with redshirts Ty Egbert and Allen Jiles IV, will be suiting up this season for Idaho, which went 12-18 last year.
