Obituary: Groh, Anthony V. “Tony”

Age 85

GROH, Anthony V. “Tony” (Age 85) Tony was born April 12, 1928 in Odessa, WA to Antone and Anna Groh.

He died peacefully with family and friends by his side on November 1, 2013.

Tony is deeply missed by his wife, Laura, daughters, Sherri (Rik) Bouck, Kathy (Larry) Clark, sons, Rodney Groh and Lonnie (Carol) Jones.

He also leaves seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, one sister, one sister-in-law, two brothers-in-law, many nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.

Tony was raised in Odessa, and served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific during World War II.

After his discharge from the service, he raised a family and farmed in the Almira area.

He moved to Wilbur when he met and married Laura (Novotney) Jones in 1971.

He worked in the grain elevators until his retirement.

Tony worked hard, played hard, and enjoyed life to the fullest, making friends wherever he went.

A memorial service will be held at the Community Presbyterian Church in Wilbur, November 9th at 11:00am.

Officiating will be Pastor Roger Hudson.

Inurnment will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to go towards the heating system for the Presbyterian Church.
