Obituary: Johnson, Jean “Grandma J”

Age 90

JOHNSON, Jean “Grandma J” Jean was born on March 4, 1923 in St Ignatius Montana to Bertha and Gustav Pinsoneault.

After high school she attended Kinman Business School in Spokane and then worked for Mckesson Robbins as an order clerk, working her way up to executive secretary until her retirement.

Jean was one of the original working Moms.

She worked full time, riding the bus to and from work, all while raising four children!

After retirement, she worked at the “Cop Shop” in Hillyard ultimately serving as President.

In 1945 she married Gilmore “Johnny” Johnson who passed away in 1975.

She is survived by her four children and their spouses Judy (Richard) Husk, Jim (Barb) Johnson, Jerry (Lori) Johnson and Janine (Leland) Siwek.

She has seven grandchildren: Amy (Rob) Ballard, Brian (Christi) Husk, Matt (Amber) Johnson, Steven Johnson, Kimberly (Richard) Davidson, Eric Davidson and Nick Johnson.

She also was a great-grandmother to Chelsea and Jason Ballard, Clayton, M’Kayla and Rick Husk.

She would have been a great-great grandmother around Christmas.

Her sister, Isabelle, lives in St Ignatius and her brother, James Pinsoneault lives in Edmonds, WA.

She has numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Bertha and Gustav and siblings Gustav, Richard, Thelma and Jack.

She was a resident of Rockwood Lane on the South Hill where she lived for the last five years and had numerous friends and where she went to Heaven in her sleep on October 24th.

At her request, she was cremated.

A Rosary will be said November 9th at Noon with a Mass following at 1pm at Sacred Heart Church, 219 E Rockwood Blvd.
