Obituary: Wolf, Helen (Hopp)

Age 100

WOLF, Helen Hopp 100 Years of Life Helen died peacefully in her sleep at her home on November 1, 2013.

Helen was born July 27, 1913 in Odessa, WA to Conrad and Ann Margaret Hopp who had immigrated to America earlier that year.

Helen grew up on a farm near Lamona, WA and attended the two-room Lamona School through eighth grade.

She graduated from Odessa High School in 1932 and married Leo Wolf that fall.

They shared 49 wonderful years together until Leo passed away in 1982.

Early in their marriage they lived in Chelan and Mount Vernon, WA.

They moved to California where they lived for nine years.

While in California they owned two motels, one of which they built by making adobe bricks by hand and aptly named it the Adobe Motel.

They also owned a cotton and dairy farm.

In 1946 they returned to Odessa, WA and bought a cattle ranch.

Helen never wavered in following Leo, looking at each move as an adventure.

In 1950 Leo and Helen made their last move to Deer Park, WA where they farmed and developed farmland until Leo’s retirement.

Helen continued to live on the farm after his passing.

She enjoyed baking and always had a plate of cookies ready for family and friends.

Her neighbors were the recipients of many apple pies over the years.

Helen also enjoyed gardening, pinochle, fishing and camping.

She loved playing games with her grandchildren.

Leo and Helen loved to travel and Helen continued to travel with family and friends visiting Alaska, Tasmania, and various places throughout the United States.

Helen was a devoted wife, loving mother and beloved grandmother.

She showered her family and friends with her time and unconditional love.

Helen had a deep and abiding faith in Jesus.

She was comforted by the verses she had memorized as she waited for her Savior to take her home.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband Leo, son Don, grandson Jonathan Wolf, and great-grandson Levi Morgan.

She is survived by her son Glenn (Nancy Hale) Wolf; daughter Nina (Ervin) Dubes; 13 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 26 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

All of us will miss her deeply but are looking forward to rejoicing once again with her in heaven.

What a glorious day that will be.
