Bickering no help to animals

I was disappointed by the negative tone of the fall newsletter editorial written by Christel Carlson, board president of SpokAnimal C.A.R.E.

As a longtime supporter of local animal rescue groups and shelters (including SpokAnimal), I encourage all animal advocates, rescuers and shelter staff within the Spokane area to put aside egos and personal disagreements. Let’s truly work together to support SCRAPS (Spokane County Regional Animal Protection Service) in its new venture developing regional animal control and shelter facilities, with the goal of making it easier to reunite lost pets with their families.

The animals that we profess to love have the most to lose from bickering and the most to gain from coordinating energy and resources. Buck up, Spokane!
