Accident stalls eastbound I-90 traffic

Update: Cameras show traffic flowing smoothly again both ways on I-90 through Spokane. Washington State Patrol says at least four separate accidents in the area snarled the evening commute.

Previous story

Traffic on eastbound Interstate 90 coming into Spokane from Sunset Hill is backed up this evening because of an accident just east of Division Street. At 5:20 p.m., the slowdown reached back to nearly the Geiger Boulevard exit. The accident occurred just after 4:30 p.m., according to the Spokane Regional Traffic Management Center, which has a camera showing the scene. In addition, northbound traffic on the Maple Street Bridge was being hampered by an accident at the Sprague Avenue on ramp to the bridge. Traffic cameras show moderate to heavy traffic on other portions of I-90, including westbound lanes coming into Spokane from Spokane Valley. The Washington state Department of Transportation this week warned that heavy traffic may be encountered through Monday because of Veterans Day travel.
