Obituary: Dohrman, Stuart G.

Age 85

DOHRMAN, Stuart G. Passed away Monday, November 4, 2013 at Coeur d’Alene, ID.

He was born July 26, 1928 at Newcastle, WY to George and Frances (Groner) Dohrman.

He attended grade schools in Wyoming.

His family moved to Seattle, WA where he attended Foster High School and graduated in 1946.

Following high school, Stuart moved to the Tensed, ID area where he worked for his father in the family sawmill.

He married Marlene Tanner on May 12, 1950 at Coeur d’Alene, ID and the couple made their home at Tensed where he logged.

In January of 1952, Stuart entered the United States Army.

He served in Iceland for one year, was discharged from active duty in December of 1953, and served the next six years in the Army Reserves.

Following his military service, Stuart returned to Tensed where he logged, operated a sawmill, and later worked for Benewah County as a truck driver.

He retired in 1993 and continued to make his home at Tensed.

For the past year, Stuart lived at Ivy Court in Coeur d’Alene.

Stuart was a member of the Tensed Community Church, and a U.S. Army Veteran.

He loved to make things out of wood, and made most of the furniture in his home.

Survivors include his wife Marlene at the Tensed home; two daughters, Carol Zarate of Tensed and Lynette Moss of Spokane, WA; one son, Clayton (Lisa) Dohrman of Scappoose, OR; three sisters, Ruthie Rosenberry of Tensed, Juanita Dalrymple of Seattle, and Phyllis Zigalla of Grayland, WA; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother Wayne Dohrman.

Viewing will be at Kramer Funeral Home in Tekoa, WA on Friday and Saturday, November 8th and November 9th from 9 am until 5 pm.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 11, 2013 at 10 am at the Tensed Community Church with Pastor Tom Owen officiating.

The United States Army will participate with military honors.
